Today the Finches cage was cleaned and altered. I've moved the pedicure ladder higher so that their claws won't get too long. I also added another cuttlefish to the cage which seems to be working well, the female finch is nibbling at it a lot. They have finally managed to make a nest and have slowed down with amending it. Today they were introduced to apple which went down very well, however despite the text books claiming a finches love for carrot and grapes, they both ignored the new items in their food bowl. Spinach however is their favourite still, but it would be nice to find a few more foods other than their seed to feed them in order that they have a varied diet. I think that some meal worms might be next on the menu.
